Pirelli P7

The technical progression of a legendary name that became synonymous with performance motoring during the seventies, P7™ is dedicated to the latest generation high-performance cars. Targeted to cope with high power output, without sacrificing elegance and driving comfort, the attractive asymmetric design blends style with state-of-the-art technology to further enhance the pleasure of driving. P7™ utilizes both STEP (Safety from Technically Engineered Profile) technology and the Pirelli patented ELRR (Extra Low Rolling Resistance) system. STEP is a platform that delivers a more harmonious interaction between the various components of the tire, whilst the ELRR system focuses on the belt and sidewall.

TREAD:
Asymmetric design, for "sports" driving, features broad inner ribs with a combination of circumferential and lateral grooves to improve braking, water expulsion and driving comfort. The plain outer rib and rigid shoulder blocks absorb lateral forces to maximize grip when cornering. A newly developed performance compound provides increased grip in both wet and dry conditions and increased stiffness ensuring more precise handling and requested cornering power.
CASING:
Mono-ply rayon increases casing flexibility and, together with the “high flex point” profile (STEP), reduces rolling resistance.

BELT PACK:
A lighter, high tensile steel belt improves handling and maximizes lateral stability.

PERFORMANCE:
The overall performance of P7™ is concentrated on safety, particularly in the wet, under extreme driving conditions. P7™ is an active component integrated into the car safety system, ensuring optimum stability and control. The tire adapts easily to variable driving conditions and retains its performance characteristics, even when significantly worn. In addition to the benefits of STEP, the innovative ELRR system reduces rolling resistance.
